Global Security Week Launches Logo Competition

We are offering prizes for people to design a new logo for Global Security Week 2006. The competition runs from Feb 10th to March 10th. Entry is free.

(PRWEB) February 10, 2006 -- Today we are launching a competition to find a new logo for Global Security Week 2006.

Global Security Week (GSW) is a voluntary project coordinating security awareness activities worldwide in the week leading up to September 11th annually. This year, GSW will take place from September 4th through 10th. The central awareness theme for 2006 is identity theft.

The logo competition runs for a month from today, February 10th. Entry is free of charge. Entrants are invited to submit up to three logo designs by March 10th in accordance with the competition rules published online at:
http://www.GlobalSecurityWeek.com/html/logo.html

Prizes already announced include a new book on planning and managing security awareness programs (“Managing an Information Security and Privacy Awareness and Training Program” by Rebecca Herold), along with the global recognition that winning this competition will bring.

The winning logo will be used to promote GSW on the web through the GSW website, on ‘banner advertisements’ and in print through the security and general news media.

For further information about the GSW project, please visit the GSW website at: www.GlobalSecurityWeek.com
or contact the GSW organizers.

Notes for editors (not for publication)
-----------------
GSW was launched in June 2005 by a small band of volunteers. The inaugural GSW event took place on September 5th to 11th 2005. Dates for the next five years are published on the GSW website www.GlobalSecurityWeek.com in order to give event organizers plenty of time to coordinate future activities.

GSW is a non-commercial non-political project. The organizers are donating their time and incidental expenses (such as the cost of this press release) for the greater good of the Internet community. Your support in the form of advance publicity for GSW 2006 would be much appreciated.

The organizers would be pleased to answer any questions about the logo competition or about GSW in general.
