Adventure Girl® Stefanie Michaels shares her top 5 Valentine's Day destinations and hotel picks. From the ultra-expensive to budget conscious choices, Stefanie gives her top romantic getaways.
"Valentine's Day is such a special day for so many people," explains Michaels. "It is that marker on the calendar that makes people stop and celebrate love."
Michaels says, that in recent years, hotels and resorts have expanded on the idea that Valentine's Day isn't just for dinner, candy and flowers anymore. "Hotels and resorts are looking for ways to not only increase revenues during the month of February, but also to offer unique packages, in the Valentine's Day spirit, that will keep guests staying on longer than just dinner," says Michaels. "This is an especially important marketing tool for boutique hotels and smaller resorts that can offer guests customized packages, that larger resorts either will not or can not fulfill."
Michaels' Top 5 Valentine's Day specials were chosen for both an intimate flavor and interesting offerings for couples looking for a quick romantic getaway.
The Lajitas Resort and Spa, set at the banks of the Rio Grand, was chosen by Michaels, for its treat before Valentine's Day- a weekend filled with couples' culinary classes and romantic movies by moonlight at the hotel's outdoor amphitheater.
Napa Valley's Vintage Inn, was chosen for its personal sommelier to determine couple’s wine preferences and “Couples Only” blind wine tasting with select wines and personalized wine shades, the Aphrodisiac in-room fondue and the spa's Chocolate Decadence Massage. "Who wouldn't want their body smothered in chocolate," proclaims Michaels.
Dallas's Hotel Crescent Court was chosen for their Suite Dreams Package, which includes a Chocolate "Fon-duo" and breakfast in bed complete with heart shaped pancakes, and a late check out.
Michaels' next pick. is the Lily Leon, an all suites hotel on Collins Avenue in South Beach's trendy art deco area. "I just loved the private bath butler, who will create a milk-drawn romance bath for two, and the idea of an exotic dinner at the brand new Spy Lounge restaurant," says Michaels. "But what tops this Valentine's package for me, is a private roof top dessert party at the Lily Leon with a professional astronomer to help guests navigate the South Florida sky. Stargazing is so romantic!"
Rounding up Michaels' Top Five, is Steve Wynn’s latest Las Vegas hotel venture, the Wynn Hotel. "Ok, so you have the boutique option, but I wanted to give my fans something flashy and fun, for those not so comfortable with romance extreme," states Michaels. "You can dine at the semi-private restaurant Tableau, and take in a sexy show, and if the moment feels just right, you can just head on down the strip to the closest wedding chapel and tie the knot."
Michaels Top 5 can be seen at her website Adventuregirl.com and hopes that her tips will lend to some unique Valentine's adventures.
