Help Celebrate 1st-Annual "I Love Peace Day" on Feb. 14th
Atlanta Global Peace Project to celebrate February 14th (Valentine’s Day) in a special way, since Valentine's Day is observed internationally, peace-lovers & peace-organizations world-wide are invited to also call it: “I Love Peace Day!”
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 10, 2006 -- John Randolph Naugle, co-founder for the budding nonprofit: Friends of Gandhi-King-Carter, is asking peace-lovers from around the Earth to celebrate February 14th (Valentine’s Day) as the 1st Annual: “I Love Peace Day!” The goal is to encourage everyone (globally) to find something (anything) to do that cultivates Peace (at the least, tell a friend that you love Peace). Need another good idea on how to cultivate Peace? They invite you to sign their Global Peace Petition and assist with renaming "The World's Biggest & Busiest Airport" (Atlanta).
A NOON Press Conference, on Valentine’s Day; Tuesday - February 14th is scheduled. To be inaugurated as “The 1st Annual- I Love Peace Day”, Mr. Naugle is inviting members of the media, and citizens to join him in Atlanta's Woodruff Park (in front of the “Phoenix Rising” Sculpture) when he announces their goals. This location is very close to "The World's Tallest Hotel”, "The World's Biggest Airport”, CNN International, "The World's Biggest Aquarium". Here, one may also cultivate a peaceful vision for our entire Global Family.
February 14th is an ideal date for having the “I Love Peace” Day because MILLIONS of “cousins” from our Global Family already celebrate their love for one another. And the best way we (as a Global Family) can grow to love & cultivate Global Peace is to see where we’ve come from historically. Do YOU want to love your Global Home ("Mother Earth") and Global Family (ALL people everywhere) better? Then please examine the “Heart-Shaped” 500 year-old Bernard Sylvanus cordiform map (one of the very first maps to illustrate the newly discovered Americas):

Mr. Naugle states: “When Mrs. Coretta Scott King passed away and 4 US Presidents + BILLIONS around the world followed & participated in her memorial (directly & indirectly) she made history. Because Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Coretta Scott King collectively proclaimed (with their lives, sacrifices, and deaths): “I Have A Dream” then WE (our Global Family) can also dream! The question for ALL of us is: ‘What will we do now & today to carry forward the goal of cultivating Global Peace for our Global Family?’
Regardless of where we live on Earth, we can each celebrate February 14th as “I Love Peace Day”. Friends of Gandhi-King-Carter will do that by volunteering Atlanta to be Mother Earth’s “Capital of Peace”. It is already home to three internationally respected “Centers of Peace Education”: The Gandhi Foundation USA, The King Center, and The Carter Center. Atlanta is also home to three Nobel Peace Prize Nominees: Senator Sam Nunn, Dr. John Endicott, and Ted Turner.
“Atlanta: City of Peace” (to inaugurate the 1st Annual “I Love Peace Day”) invites everyone WORLDWIDE to courageously make a pilgrimage here. The Statue of Liberty proclaims: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” and the Ellis Island Center (built of "Georgia pine" in 1892) has called to immigrants & sojourners from far & near. So too does “Atlanta: City of Peace” invite those who “are tempest tossed” and yearn to understand & cultivate Peace.
500 years ago the “Heart-Shaped” Bernard Sylvanus map was made (showing the Americas for the first time). At this time the English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, and others were killing each other (and others) to claim & control “The Land”. Native Americans, Africans, Asians (and others) were horribly enslaved, enlisted, and ‘educated’ that:
“One can own land and their fellow-man, and also that one can fight for & kill for Peace!”
Friends of Gandhi-King-Carter proclaims: “This is not only a New Year, but more importantly a New Decade, New Century, and New Millennium. Help us inspire the 700+ organizations now registered with “The U.N.'s Intl. Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence" (2001-2010)! WE, together as a Global Family, can heal & learn from the 1838 sad & horrible story of "The Trail of Tears". At this time Cherokee nation was forced (by the US Government) to give up its lands east of the Mississippi River and (in a forced march) had to face hunger, disease, and exhaustion to migrate to an area in present-day Oklahoma. On this mandatory inhumane exodus, over 4,000 out of 15,000 of the Cherokees died.
“Atlanta: City of Peace”, to set a New Millennium precedent, invites everyone everywhere (globally) to step into “The Trail of Grins” by making a pilgrimage to the three internationally respected “Centers of Peace Education”: The Gandhi Foundation USA, The King Center, and The Carter Center. Are your descendants Native American, African, Asian, Irish (or otherwise)? Do you have family members in your history that were preyed upon & scarred? Are your family descendants English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, and others that wrongly believed & taught: “One can own land and their fellow-man, and also that one can fight for & kill for Peace”? Then all of you (and any of you) and others… will YOU please accept our humble invitation to step into “The Trail of Grins” by making a pilgrimage to “Atlanta: City of Peace”? Come and let us all join to learn from the horrors of the last millennium, and let us forgive collectively so that WE, together, can “Seize this New Year, New Decade, New Century, and New Millennium!”
This February 14th, please find a way to declare: “I Love Peace!” We must ALL be courageous and set AWE-Inspiring precedents for the 10 Centuries of the New Millennium to come (Years 2000-3000). Why set a HUGE precedent? So that the BILLIONS of our "cousins" from the Global Family that will arrive later can have a peace-pattern to follow. They urgently NEED this & deserve this.
Details on Friends of Gandhi-King-Carter co-founder: John Randolph Naugle has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. He does occasional contract library tech work for the CDC’s Global Communications & Information Center, and is quite informed of the numerous health challenges (in EVERY area) that face our Global Family. He was also concerned enough about the well-being of his hometown that he campaigned to be elected Mayor of Marietta twice (1993 & 1997). He has lost his savings & home in developing his nonprofit interests (he could sure use help with this nonprofit). In addition, he knows “the heart-beat” of metro-Atlanta very well because he’s donated his time & talent to 100+ nonprofits. He’s a very serious student of Peace Cultivation, and especially the three globally respected leaders who have made HUGE sacrifices to furthering Global Peace: Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Martin Luther King, and President Jimmy Carter.
---Mahatma Gandhi (1869–1948)
"Where there is Love, there is Life and Peace.
Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed.
You must be the change that you want to see in the world!"
---Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968)
"Peace is the sweeter music...
Our lives begin to end on the day we become silent about things that matter…
If humanity is to progress, then Gandhi’s life is inescapable.
He lived, thought, and acted inspired
by the vision of humanity evolving
toward a world of PEACE and harmony!"
---President Jimmy Carter (1924-20??)
"The Nobel Peace Prize has profoundly magnified the inspiring global influence of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the greatest leader that my native state has ever produced! On the steps of our nation’s memorial to Abraham Lincoln, Dr. King said: ‘I Have A Dream…’ The bond of our common humanity is stronger than the divisiveness of our fears and prejudices!"
