Canada’s Global Leadership Expected to Continue Through Hockey Wins at 2006 Olympics
One hockey expert is predicting that Canada's hockey teams will take charge at this year's Olympics.
Markham, Ontario (PRWEB) February 10, 2006 -- Lovers of sports love predictions about their heroes. One hockey expert is predicting that Canada will take charge in ice hockey at this year's Olympics, despite signs that teams around the world, such as their toughest competitors - the U.S., Sweden, and the Czech Republic - are becoming increasingly hungry for victory.
"Canada has been on a winning streak at the world level. Canadian players are getting younger, showing the depth of talent – the Juniors are now becoming the big names in hockey," says Kevin V. Huhn, broadcaster, author, philanthropist, and executive producer of The Hockey Source - The Ultimate Resource for Minor Hockey.
The leadership in hockey allows Canada to promote its expertise and develop alliances worldwide. Using the example of global corporations that have shared best practices in their fields through setting up operations abroad, Canada will further strengthen not only the growth of the sport worldwide, but also its national economy.
Millions of individuals around the world are involved in youth hockey, but only a small percentage move up to the professional level. For all the rest, the game provides fun & fitness. It also is the key to achieving success in every other aspect of life – from personal development, to community involvement, and career. Whether a game is won or lost, it offers the potential to teach many essential life lessons.
“I want to better the game, by bettering the people – no matter where it's played. My goal is to grow the greatest game around the world, and most of all, share the fun,” declares Huhn.
Having been active in minor hockey for 30 years, he shares his vision, knowledge, and experience through:
1. Hockey-ology—The Ultimate Guide to Fun & Success for Minor Hockey, his new book, now available in Canada’s Chapters and Indigo stores. (He will kick off his national tour with a launch at Chapters in Newmarket, Ontario on Sunday, February 19, starting at 1:00pm.) Minor and youth hockey teams will benefit from his donation of 25% of book proceeds;
2. A 30 minute television show - The Hockey Source in Canada and the U.S.A.;
3. A comprehensive and robust website: www.thehockeysource.tv;
4. A team of hockey experts respected in their fields assembled by Huhn to help people get valuable information;
5. A line of products created to assist people in their various roles in hockey.
The Hockey Source is a production of Fire ’n Idea Inc., a privately-owned Canadian corporation
