Competitive Edge Résumés will be donating 5% of its profits to the World Society for the Protection of Animals. A journey to China by business principal Carolyn Cott inspired her to contribute money to a humane organization working in China to prevent cruelty to animals.

Competitive Edge Résumés will be donating 5% of its profits to the World Society for the Protection of Animals, from February 22nd through April 30th. A visit to China by business prinicipal Carolyn Cott inspired the donation. While traveling there she witnessed firsthand some of the not-uncommon inhumane treatment of animals, most of which comes from ignorance rather than bad intent. Believing that education is a viable strategy for helping people become more compassionate toward animals, Carolyn researched organizations with efforts in Southeast Asia and was impressed by the diversity of WSPA's programs in China, as well as their effectiveness.

"I'm not a person who can stand by and see animal suffering and do nothing about it. I realized the best contribution I could make at this point is giving money to an organization that is making a difference. By donating a portion of income from my business, Competitive Edge Resumes (see http://www.competitive-edge-resumes.com for further information), I can make at least a small dent in inhumane treatment of animals in China," says Carolyn.

Carolyn established Competitive Edge Résumés in 1983. Her process diverges from that of many high-volume résumé factories—she works one-on-one with each client in an in-depth telephone consultation to uncover the client's overt and subtle accomplishments, contributions, and potential and answer the prospective employer's question: "Why should I hire this person?" She has clients throughout the United States as well as Australia. "Sharing the profits of my business to improve treatment of animals makes sense to me, and it gives me a sense of doing something that helps."
