Allow Your Imagination to Soar
The Most Amazing, Incredible, Fantastic, Wonderful Thing! by Dana Schellings teaches children to think big.
San Francisco, Calif. (PRWEB) February 11, 2006 -- The power of imagination is the greatest gift of all. The Most Amazing, Incredible, Fantastic, Wonderful Thing! by Dana Schellings, is a thirty-four page children’s picture book that shows four-to-ten-year olds the power of their imagination. When Abbey Bunny receives a bright purple box covered with yellow stars, her grandmother tells her it contains a most amazing, incredible, fantastic, wonderful thing. When Abbey opens the box, she gasps in delight. It truly is the most amazing, incredible, fantastic, wonderful thing she’s ever seen! She quickly tells her friend Jacob Sheep, who tells his mother, Mrs. Sheep, who in turn tells Mrs. Squirrel, who passes it on to Zoë Fox, and so on. Colorful illustrations show each friend imagining what Abbey’s special gift could possibly be.
Jacob Sheep thinks it could be a jet pack that could fly a kid around the world. Mrs. Sheep imagines a robot programmed to do all the household chores, while Mrs. Squirrel dreams of a talking parrot with beautiful golden feathers and shiny black eyes. As the tale of the box and its wonderful contents is passed through a whole community of animals, they each have a chance to imagine what the most amazing, incredible, fantastic, wonderful thing could be. Finally, with Mr. Pig drooling for a pizza the size of a lake and Tom Skunk dreaming of a golden fish-shaped submarine, they go to Abbey Bunny’s house to see the contents of the box, only to discover that the box is empty. However, they soon realize that the box – although appearing empty – is filled with the most amazing, incredible, fantastic, wonderful thing ever. Instead of a tangible present like a toy or pretty dress, Abbey’s grandmother had given her the gift of imagination – and in turn, Abbey had passed that gift to each of her friends.
