UDrive Ireland, a car rental enterprise, this week announced its launch in Ireland, marking one of the latest entrants to the online car hire sector in the Irish travel market.
The emergence of online car rental in recent years, particularly across the world's developed markets, has prompted consumers to shop around for the most competitive car hire deals according to Tony Russell, managing director of UDrive Ireland.
Speaking at the launch of the company's web based online booking facility in Limerick - http://www.udriveireland.com - he said that they had a proven business model and were confident it would prove hugely successful with both business and leisure travellers to Ireland.
"We see tremendous opportunity here and our move into the car rental market in Ireland is the next logical step for us. We are already servicing the commercial hire market with our fleeet of vans and we are confident that we can also build a substantial business in car hire," he said.
Certainly UDrive Ireland appears to have chosen an auspicious time to launch. Analysts expect there to be significant growth in both the UK & Ireland market this year. Moreover, research firm PhoCusWright projects that the European online travel market will grow from €28.6 billion in 2005 to €41.6 billion in 2006.
Russell emphasised that Ireland represents a huge segment of the online travel market in Europe. "One of the main reasons we decided to launch in Ireland at this time is that the market here is so big," he explained.
The U Drive Ireland central reservations office is based in Limerick, with rental desks at all the major Irish Airports including Dublin, Shannon, Cork and Kerry. They also offer delivery and collection from the major airports and have several other car rental locations in Ireland to select from.
Making a booking is easy and secure on the company's website - http://www.udriveireland.com - by completing a simple quote form which allows you to book the car there and then or have the quotation automatically emailed to you.
Looking ahead, the company has plans to ratchet up it's offering in the coming year. "We have a definite roadmap in place, but we want to take our time to do it right," said Tony Russell - http://www.udriveireland.com
