Dallas Chiropractor Highlighted in New 'Medicine Men' Publication

Uses state-of-the-art soft-tissue system to aid Olympic gold medalist diver.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) February 15, 2006 -- Doctor Francis Xavier Murphy of Dallas, Texas was selected as one of 50 Texas doctors highlighted in "Medicine Men -- Heartwarming Tales of Texas Docs," the newest book from Red Bandana Publishing. Best known for getting quick results with athletes, doctor Murphy was the lone Chiropractor featured in the book. Murphy's longstanding complementary relationship with the medical community stems from his work as founder of Whole Health Partners (www.wholehealthpartners.com) where he has assembled the only team of Active Release Techniques (ART) specialists in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Dr. Murphy's story centers on a day in July 2002 when he was called upon to help 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist platform diver Laura Wilkinson perform in the U.S. national collegiate championship. She was suffering from an acute case of torticollis, or wry neck, due to a badly rotated vertebra in her neck and was in severe pain. The national collegiate championships were to take place in 24 hours and Laura needed immediate relief or she would be unable to compete. Dr. Murphy responded with a specific Active Release Technique combined with a gentle cervical adjustment. The next day, Laura felt great and pulled off a spectacular series of dives to win the championship.

ART is a patented, state-of-the-art soft tissue system that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These debilitating conditions share an important factor: they are often a result of overused muscles.

"ART is extremely effective and fast-acting on post-injury and post-surgical patients. Whole Health Partners has an entire team of trained ART specialists, so we can frequently have two or three specialists working on one patient," notes Dr. Murphy. "Better results faster because we keep our hands fresh and don’t burn out."

Whole Health Partners attracts athletes, ex-athletes, musicians, post-surgical patients, patients with chronic pain, and people with frequent headaches. These people and thousands of others in the United States and Canada are driven to Active Release Techniques doctors through the testimonials of hundreds of high-level athletes and their trainers. Many experienced Active Release Specialists have obtained fixture-like positions with the United States Olympic Team, The PGA Tour, and dozens of professional teams and corporations.

Medicine Men is the fourth book in a series done on Texas notables ranging from women to law men, Texas Rangers, politicians and business leaders. Author Martana Hanson has found her niche in developing the character and the lore of these real people by spotlighting their work and how it has touched many Texans and other Americans.
