Utah Company Challenges "Big Oil"

Utah-based company, New Revolution Ventures is challenging that oil companies are in violation of the law due to recent price increases, which have been blamed in large part on recent natural disasters, while at the same time they are reporting record profits.

Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) February 19, 2006 -- Utah-based company, New Revolution Ventures is challenging that oil companies are in violation of the law due to recent price increases, which have been blamed in large part on recent natural disasters, while at the same time they are reporting record profits.

In 1970, Congress passed the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, Title 18, United States Code, Sections 1961-1968. The RICO act covers a wide variety of criminal activity, of which, extortion is what the oil companies are being challenged with. Daniel Muhlestein, president of New Revolution Ventures states: “The oil companies post their outrageously high prices at the pump and you and I have no choice but pay what they demand “The next time you go to the pump, ask yourself ‘am I being extorted?’”
