Premier Assistive Technology announces Universal Reader IGT “Intergalactic Translator.” Premier Assistive Technology breaks the language barrier with the introduction of its new translation technology. The premise behind Universal Design is to help all students who struggle with literacy.
Universal Reader IGT “Intergalactic Translator” is unique in its seamless translation. The Universal Reader IGT Translates text on the fly into 8 different languages including: French, Spanish, English, German, Italian, Portuguese, Korean and Japanese. Translation has never been so easy.
To translate text, all you need to do is select the text you want translated, then press CTRL + F6 and it will grab the text, translate it to your desired language, and start reading it to you. With most computers it is nearly instantaneous. We did not stop there. We added the translation to the Talking Pointer as well. Just point at any text on a screen, web page, desktop icon, or menu and have it instantly translated. It will even translate HELP files on the fly.
“It is a great way for my students to explore other cultures,” said L. Harms CCSD
The new IGT can make 85 percent of all web pages available on the World Wide Web accessible to you regardless of which languages you know. For example, go to an Italian website and read about the Olympics, then go to a French site and hear their perspective on the games. Now you can truly surf the World Wide Web, not just the English websites.
It is a great ESL tool, or for anyone trying to learn another language. The IGT is not just another word translation program, it is a concept translator. Do not take our word for it… download a copy and try it for yourself – go to http://www.readingmadeeasy.com select the free trials button and give it a try. You can also go to http://www.premier-programming.com/UR/UreaderiIGT.htm and watch a video of the IGT in action.
“IGT helps level the playing field for all students, even the ESL,” said R. Long of Harrisburg ISD.
The translation technology is integrated into the Universal Reader for instantaneous reading translation. It is also integrated into the E-Text Reader for document translating. The E-Text Reader will let you translate an entire document or just portions of a document. The best part is that software comes with all the voices you need so you do not need to purchase anything extra. Both products are SAPI 5 compliant, so additional voices can be purchased to work with it from http://www.capstral.com or http://www.neospeech.com
The price for the Universal Reader IGT is $79.95, and E-Text Reader is $79.95 or you can purchase the Translation Pack which contains both for $99.95.
The translation Technology is available to all active “Breaking Down Barriers to Assistive Technology” Grant Recipients, with paid Upgrade/Technical Support.
