The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a series of documents used to aid in the implementation of a framework for IT professionals within their business. ITIL processes are important to understand because they contribute to an IT organization’s management and accountability. Professionals can attain ITIL certification at LinuxWorld and NetworkWorld Conference & Expo 2006 (LWNW 2006), April 24–26, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
The course program and certification exam, conducted by Quint Wellington Redwood Canada, uses both practical and theoretical methods to prepare registrants for the Examination Institute for Information Science (EXIN) ITIL Foundation Exam. Through case studies and role-playing, Quint Group’s business simulation ensures that participants understand ITIL’s main processes, learn best practices, and become familiar with ITIL’s comprehensive glossary.
ITIL consists of seven areas: Service Support, Service Delivery, Planning to Implement Service Management, ICT Infrastructure Management, Applications Management, Security Management, and The Business Perspective. In this course, the emphasis will be on the first two sets: Service Support and Service Delivery.
The course will be taught by Christian Plehiers, Service Management Consultant, Quint Group. Plehiers is a professional Senior IT Trainer and Business Analyst, with 17 years of progressive experience in IT Operations and IT Service Management. He is an ITIL-certified trainer and recognized as a multi-discipline training specialist.
