Learn How We Meet Life’s Challenges and Triumph Over Them

An autistic boy transforms the lives of a would-be reggae singer, a junkyard pirate and a modern day witch in Eddie and Me on the Scrap Heap by Marc Littman.

GRANADA HILLS, CA (PRWEB) February 19, 2006 -- In this moving and life-affirming novel, nine-year-old Eddie, who is autistic, is determined not to end up on the scrap heap of life. Can a reggae singer, a junkyard pirate and a witch help him teach the world tolerance?

Eddie’s not your usual boy. He may be autistic, but he also plays guitar like rocker Chuck Berry and he’s practically a genius, but he blames himself for his parents’ failed marriage and for his mother’s increasing unhappiness. Can he ever make her proud and prove he has value? Helping Eddie in his quest are three incredible characters with dreams of their own. Uncle Natie isn’t Jamaican but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to be a reggae singer. Captain Jake isn’t really a pirate but he dreams of sailing to Tahiti in a pirate ship mounted on stilts in his Jolly Roger’s U-Pick junkyard. And Sharon may be a modern day witch, but she has a tragic past that no spell on earth seems to be able to heal. Can this unlikely trio help “fix” Eddie? Or will it be Eddie who fixes them?

Written from Marc Littman’s own experience of fathering a special-needs child, this is an extraordinary story of how we meet life’s challenges and triumph over them. Wise, witty and remarkable, it’s a tale as unforgettable as Eddie himself.
