4th Annual Joshua Tree Music Festival To Be Held May 19-21, 2006; Tickets On Sale Now For Eclectic Desert Festival

The 4th annual Joshua Tree Music Festival will take place Friday, May 19th, through Sunday, May 21st, at the Joshua Tree Lake Campground at 2601 Sunfair Road, in Joshua Tree, California. The festival is a family-friendly event for music-loving souls of all ages. Nestled just outside The Joshua Tree national park in the high desert of the Mojave Desert, The Joshua Tree Music Festival is one of the only multi-day campout festivals of its caliber in the Southwest United States.

Joshua Tree, CA (PRWEB) February 19, 2006 -- The 4th annual Joshua Tree Music Festival will take place Friday, May 19th, through Sunday, May 21st, at the Joshua Tree Lake Campground at 2601 Sunfair Road, in Joshua Tree, California. The festival is a family-friendly event for music-loving souls of all ages. Nestled just outside The Joshua Tree national park in the high desert of the Mojave Desert, The Joshua Tree Music Festival is one of the only multi-day campout festivals of its caliber in the Southwest United States.

The festival showcases an incredibly diverse array of more than 25 nationally recognized recording artists. Featured genres include singer-songwriter, rocket-fueled funk and dance music, bluegrass, southern rock, reggae, flamenco-delic, and afro-centric music. The intimate setting of just two stages, set back to back, keeps the music flowing non-stop over the course of the weekend.

The line-up so far includes: Kinky, Particle, New Monsoon, Lotus, Thomas Mapfumo & Blacks Unlimited, Moonshine Still, Breakestra, Kaki King, Spam All Stars, Kan'Nal, Samantha Stollenwerck, Alfred Howard & The k23 Orchestra, Brett Dennen, The Axis Brothers (featuring Wally ingram and Mighty Dave Pellicciaro), Akoya Afrobeat Ensemble, Corinne West, Groundation, Tim Easton, Toubab Krewe, Alma Melodiosa, Neulander, Giant Bear and The Thrift Store All Stars (featuring Travis of Gram Rabbit, Victoria Williams, and Tim Easton). Children of all ages are welcome and are encouraged to participate in workshops (drum, dance, hoop and poi), star gazing, nature talks, artistic adventures, and the daily parade. A mini EcoVillage, featuring local artisans and organic, healthy foods, can be found in the world market. Monies will be raised for local non-profit organizations in Joshua Tree.

The music begins at 3:00 P.M on Friday, May 19th, and at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 20th and Sunday, May 21st, and runs until the wee hours of the morning each night.

Passes to the festival are available now at a limited “early bird discount” for Friday ($30), Saturday ($35), Sunday ($30) or a three-day pass for $70.00. Passes do not include camping, which is on-site camping and highly encouraged. Camping spaces are finite and will sell out.
