Its low-overhead protocol allows the Cheetah adapter to communicate with almost full bandwidth utilization. This allows the user to set a clock rate of 40 MHz and achieve nearly 40 Mbits/sec of effective data rate. Transactions sizes ranging from a few kilobytes to many megabytes can benefit from this efficiency.
