We specifically designed this device to sustain 40+ MHz bitrates
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) February 22, 2006
Total Phase is pleased to announce the release of the Cheetah(TM) SPI Host Adapter.
The Cheetah SPI Host Adapter is a full-duplex, high-speed adapter capable of SPI master signaling at up to 40+ MHz. Engineers can use this tool to communicate with their SPI-based systems.
"We specifically designed this device to sustain 40+ MHz bitrates," says Kumaran Santhanam, senior product architect. "It is an innovative tool to help embedded systems engineers develop, debug, and program SPI-based components and systems."
Ideal for High-Speed SPI Applications
The Cheetah SPI Host Adapter is specified to achieve sustained SPI master signaling at up to 40 MHz. It is also possible to overclock the Cheetah adapter to 50 MHz.
The Cheetah SPI Host Adapter API is designed to efficiently manage high-speed SPI communications. Its low-overhead protocol allows the Cheetah adapter to communicate with almost full bandwidth utilization. This allows the user to set a clock rate of 40 MHz and achieve nearly 40 Mbits/sec of effective data rate. Transactions sizes ranging from a few kilobytes to many megabytes can benefit from this efficiency.
Full-Featured and Low-Cost
The Cheetah SPI Host Adapter is a compact (8.9 cm x 4.1 cm x 2.2 cm), bus-powered, high-speed USB 2.0 device. The Cheetah adapter is both Windows and Linux compatible and includes a software GUI interface and royalty-free API. This low-cost USB to SPI adapter is only USD$350 in single-unit quantities. Additional discounts are available for larger volumes.
