Young, restless and invincible, Neil Levin left college during the Korean War to join the Navy and fly jet fighters aboard aircraft carriers. Not unlike most driven youth, he was on a quest to prove he had the right stuff. Timing and opportunity played significant roles in his rise from Naval Aviation Cadet during the Korean War to Marine Corps Lt. Colonel during the Vietnam era.
In this latest book from Leatherneck Publishing, “An Angel Rode My Wing,” chronicles the twenty-year career of Lt. Col. Levin with all the elements of a great action novel — the battles to succeed, to overcome monumental adversity, to stay alive and to stay loved. Often poignant, humorous, thought provoking and introspective, Levin’s seductive style of writing draws you into his story in a most intimate way flying in the cockpit with him through the clouds, diving on enemy targets, dodging anti-aircraft fire and during gut wrenching emergencies. All age groups can read this book. It is comfortable, sometimes humorous entertainment that also presents some provocative issues about marriage, divorce, children, out of body experiences and even UFOs. A must read.
