Atlanta Goes Hollywood with March 2nd Star-studded Premier of 'The System Within'

Doug Sorenson and Robert Davis II, Who Auditioned for “The System Within” in Atlanta, Appear in Urban Drama Unmasking Criminal Justice System Inequities

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 20, 2006 -- The highly anticipated urban drama The System Within, which completed filming in New York City on July 29, 2005 opens on March 2, 2006 at The Atlanta Regal Theater, according to The System Within film Production, LLC (TSW) and Raging Nations Films.

In 2003, TSW toured the nation and auditioned thousands of talented unknown actors, singers and dancers to cast in this project. This unique casting plan combined the skills of acknowledged working professionals with talented but untested amateur cast members, selected from the search. Doug Sorenson and Robert Davis II were among the many who auditioned in Atlanta won parts at that time

The professional cast includes the award-winning veteran Hawthorne James (The Five Heartbeats, Speed, Seven), Bryce Wilson (Beauty Shop, Trois, Weekend Vibe), and Capitol Records multi-platinum rap star Chingy (Right Thurr, Ballin’ Baby) who debuts in the film. CeCe Penniston, Raphael Saadiq, Chingy, and newcomer and audition winner Andre Peterson perform on the film’s stylish soundtrack. Dale Resteghini,“The King of Urban Independent Cinema,” directs.

The brainchild of Tariq Alexander, a former model turned actor-producer, who makes his film debut in The System Within, ”wanted the real thing for this movie, so we went on a grassroots expedition seeking talent outside of New York and L.A. The beauty is that this can launch many careers and serve as a platform for addressing issues that touch us all.”

The System Within, set in contemporary America, explores the realities of being imprisoned by Federal Conspiracy Laws and trapped by unjust sentencing guidelines. On the surface, this movie will have you grooving to the sounds of past and present urban rhythms, while the hot off world runways fashions will make you rush to your nearest tailor. Upon further review, The System Within will reveal how corporations profit from racial profiling, negative capitalism, institutional slavery, while stripping youth of economic alternatives and moral values.

Auditions for the next soon to be announced TSW film project will held be prior to the Atlanta premiere on March 1st from 8 AM to 6 PM at Boy-Boy Entertainment, 288 14th Street, Suite B, Atlanta, GA. The film premieres at The Atlanta Regal Theatre, 371 17th Street NW Atlanta, GA on March 2nd at 6 PM & 8 PM
