Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings, King Arthur, Narnia and Now – The Magic Islands

Popular desire for all things magical keeps bringing new and exciting books.

(PRWEB) February 20, 2006 -- The most recent episode in the ever-popular genre of fantasy books is sweeping across the world – over 250,000 copies of The Magic Islands have so far been downloaded in over 60 countries – and the amazing thing about this story is – it’s free.

Author Steve Bell, better known for his Sc-Fi adventure – Secret Revelation – has been blown away by the run away success of his first book – The Magic Islands.

“I’m amazed,” admits Steve. “The frenzy around the book has just taken me completely by surprise. I just can’t keep up with the emails and requests from fans. It’s a nice problem to have.”

The PDF ebook had been hidden away on a web page, and slowly through word of mouth, a growing army of fans downloaded the file. This seems to have reached a breakthrough point in January when the download count surpassed 100,000 copies and the author’s inbox become flooded.

“The press got hold of the story,” says Steve. “ There were several articles last month and this just sent things crazy. The server has counted over a quarter of a million downloads so far. I’m thrilled. It just demonstrates the amazing power of the Internet.”

News of this great new book has been spreading like wildfire, turning up on sites across the globe, swelling the ranks of avid fans.

Some articles are claiming this new saga could be the successor to “Harry Potter”, and with a trilogy plus prequel in the works, it may well just have such success. Already rumors are flying like broomsticks that a movie and video game are also being considered.

Fans describe the book as somewhere between “Harry Potter” and “Lord of The Rings” in its style and pace.

"It's just brilliant," said one fan from New York. "Such a great book."

The story chronicles the fantastic adventures of Marcus and his companion Toby. It’s an adventure filled with magic, monsters and witches, set among amazing magical islands (based on the Eolian islands of Italy) – It’s a classic tale that’s becoming the most talked about story in classrooms across the world.

“I have been inspired by the classics,” says the author. “From Homer to Tolkien, C S Lewis to J K Rowling. But I hope to have created something new, something special. So far the fans seem to like it, they’re already asking me for the sequels – I’d better get writing.”

With such high demand from the fans, the author has now republished the first book in paperback – it is available from all online retails such as Amazon and Barnes & Nobel. But as promised by the author, the ebook will remain free to download as long as the fans want it.
