Cramer announced today it took home top honors at the 2005 Medical Marketing and Media (MM&M) awards competition for ‘Best Use of Digital Marketing to Consumers’ for its work on behalf of the reproductive health division of Serono, Inc. Together with Serono, Cramer received the award for a major Web portal creative redesign effort and took the top award in this category from among a group of five finalists representing such major organizations such as McNeil Pharmaceutical, the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, and AstraZeneca, among others.
Considered the most important awards event of the year for healthcare marketers, the 2005 competition reviewed more than 600 entries in 17 categories. A panel of some 40 judges, consisting of healthcare marketers from the agency, client, and service sectors, were selected for their professional and wide-ranging level of expertise in the field.
As part of Serono’s direct-to-consumer and direct-to-patient outreach, Cramer redesigned the company’s FertilityLifeLines.com Web site. This site is fully integrated with Fertility LifeLines, available at 1-866-LETS-TRY to provide customized information and support to people with fertility health concerns. The result was a new Web site that provided clean and uncomplicated navigation, enhanced content, and a new set of training videos that one judge specifically noted were “nicely done and paced… easy to understand.”
This project and overall Serono relationship is managed by Cramer Vice President Liz Kay. Kay, who has been at Cramer for six years, has more than 30 years’ experience in strategic communications and integrated messaging. Since joining Cramer, she has deepened the company’s Life Science sector, most notably through her work for Serono. In related news, Cramer announced this month that Kay has been named to the Board of Directors of the Boston Chapter of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA). Formed in 1977, the HBA is a thriving global association dedicated to furthering the advancement of women in the healthcare industry. The organization’s 1,600 individual and 70 corporate members represent nearly all organizational levels, career stages, and disciplines in pharmaceutical, biotech, and health care industries
“We at Cramer are especially pleased by this award distinction,” said Cramer Executive Vice President T. J. Martin. “It recognizes that while impressive creative is important, client results must follow. That happens when the art of what we do is driven by an understanding of the client’s business strategy and their market goals. We feel we gained attention for this effort because, working hand in hand with Serono, the entire client-agency team focused every creative detail toward the desired consumer market objective.”
