(PRWEB) February 22, 2006 -- Elle MacPherson wins the style icon title at the Elle Style awards ceremony at The Atlantis Gallery in Brick Lane east London. After more than two decades at the top of the fashion world the 42 year old model was looking stunning as she arrived in style.
Elle later spoke with reporter Sheree Pluta and said “I spend a lot of my time in France I just flew back from St.Gilles De Cretot where I have been looking at buying a property, it’s a beautiful little Norman village just one hour from Paris."
The night however belonged to actress Charlize Theron, as she was named Woman of the Year. Britain's Rachel Weisz was most stylish actress.
The event hosted by Zoe Ball attracted a host of celebrities in designer outfits. Colleen McLoughlin wore an olive green shoulderless Chloe dress, Kelly Osbourne looked stunning in a grey Marc Jacobs dress and host Ball wore in royal blue Roland Mouret.
US actor Matt Dillon who arrived with partner Mission Impossible star Tandy Newton, won the actor category. Matt Dillon has been Oscar nominated for his role as a racist policeman in Crash.
SCOTS actor James McAvoy has built on his BAFTA success by scooping best male TV star. The star of the Channel 4 series Shameless, who recently appeared in the big-screen adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia, took the Orange rising star award at Sunday's BAFTAs.
Mischa Barton, the 20-year-old British-born star of The OC, walked away with the female TV star award. Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld took the award for outstanding contribution to fashion, and Erin O'Connor won the model category.
South African actress Charlize Theron, 30, was named Woman of the Year at the awards, which were hosted by Zoe Ball and presented to honour outstanding talent and style.
Celebrity attendees and presenters at this year's Elle Style Awards included singer Dannii Minogue, jewellery designer Jade Jagger, comic Jimmy Carr, Bafta winner Thandie Newton, Kelly Osbourne, fashion designer Sadie Frost and DJ Sara Cox.
