Kirsten Person-Ramey Shares Her Experience as a Filmmaker and as a Woman Who Knows What She Wants

Kirsten Person-Ramey spoke to a room full of women business owners at an intimate business conference in Atlanta, thanks to founder Alisa Smith.

(PRWEB) February 23, 2006 -- When Kirsten Person-Ramey directed Alisa Smith in a small scene in the indie feature "Proud, Mary," she had no idea that the woman would later invite her to speak at her business conference. The initial meeting took place in the summer of 2005 when First AD Glenda L. Richardson made a phone call to her aunt, who then made a call to an attorney friend and secured three locations for the film. A visitor at the law firm, Alisa Smith caught the eye of the director, the first AD, and the make-up artist Tawana Parker. Before anyone knew it, Alisa was in make-up, and made her debut as Big Rob's (played by music producer Darnell Dalton) assistant. It was a small part, but it fueled what took place on last Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia.

The topic was "What women want and how to get it" from a business perspective. Person-Ramey shared her personal struggles of producing the film along with her husband, Corey Ramey. In attendance at the event besides Kirsten's executive producer parents Shirley and Auther Person, business partner/hubby Corey, and older sister Sherrie was founder Alisa Smith and several radio and television personalities. It was a warm and intimate discussion dealing with the pursuit of dreams.

"As an indie with your eye at Hollywood, you must stay grounded. Events like these are so humbling that it maeks it so easy. These women all want what I want...to make their dreams come true!"
