Games Faction Ltd, a New Independent Games Developer and Publisher, is Launched

Games Faction's aim is to develop and help bring high-quality independently developed games to market, by creating a complete value chain from innovative new funding methods through to marketing and online distribution.

Milton Keynes, UK (PRWEB) February 24, 2006 -- Games Faction Ltd, a new Independent Games Developer and online Publisher, have launched today. It has been formed by two British industry professionals, Lee Hickey and Malcolm Reed, with over 17 years industry experience in a variety of roles.

Games Faction's aim is to develop and help bring high-quality independently developed games to market, by creating a complete value chain from innovative new funding methods through to marketing and online distribution.

They are currently tackling 7 important questions:
1.How to finance independent development in ways that allow the developer to retain creative control, intellectual property and without relinquishing company equity
2.How to design games which take advantage of an online distribution model
3.How independent developers can develop games more efficiently, by looking at different outsourcing models for asset creation and at cooperative technology development
4.How to build a viable digital distribution channel
5.How to take advantage of existing hard-copy distribution channels to augment the digital distribution, by building relationships with existing publishers, manufacturers and distributors
6.How independent developers can efficiently target the abundance of diverse platforms
7.How independent developers can effectively market their products

Part of their answer to each of these questions is collaboration, by building strategic partnerships and alliances. They are interested in hearing from any games industry stakeholder with an interest in tackling these issues, specifically other independent games developers with an interest in collaborating on any stage of the value chain.

Games Faction is currently working hard on its first title, Morphid Brood, a 3D real time strategy/puzzle game for PC, due for release in the 2nd quarter 2006.
