ICS Penetron International Ltd., a leader in integral crystalline waterproofing products announced the improvements of its Pennsylvania facility.
This 33,500 sq. ft facility has been upgraded to meet the increased demand for Penetron products in the market. The plant has been equipped with the most up-to-date blending technology ensuring accurate distribution with no degradation of product. Upgrades include the addition if six independent bulk storage silos, having a total capacity of 600,000 lbs of varying raw materials. This added capability enables maximum flexibility in production formulations. John Sullivan, Plant Manager stated that, “an additional four bulk silos will be added in the Spring of 2006 increasing the bulk storage capacity to one million pounds.”
The entire manufacturing procedure is controlled electronically by digital weighing load cells and a production batching system that specifies the exact formula, ingredients, weight etc to be used. Any weight or ingredient deviation automatically shuts down the system. All batches are coded and all documentation relating to that batch is stored in a computer file. Mr. Sullivan further stated that “ in addition, continual product sampling is conducted and evaluated physically in the product control laboratory, insuring that the product conforms to predetermined specifications.” All packaging at the facility is performed using auger (screw) feeds thereby eliminating any potential product segregation during packing. The filled packages are also digitally weighed affording accurate package weight.
