GAMEFIT® Sponsors The Legends of Basketball Golf Tournament During the 2006 NBA Allstar Weekend

On February 17, 2006, Gamefit sponsored the NBA Retired Players 1st Annual Legends of Basketball Golf Tournament during NBA All Star 2006 weekend.

Houston, Texas (PRWEB) February 25, 2006 -- On February 17, 2006, Gamefit sponsored the NBA Retired Players 1st Annual Legends of Basketball Golf Tournament during the 2006 NBA All Star weekend. Proceeds from the event benefited The Arc of Greater Houston and The Charles D. Smith Foundation. In addition, a $20,000 check was presented by AARP to benefit Hurricane Katrina Relief Victims.

Basketball “GREATS” such as Alex English, Allan Houston, Charles D. Smith, Vernon Maxwell, Dell Curry, Spud Webb, Kerry Kittles, and Sedric Toney, David Latin and, just to name a few, helped facilitate the success of the event. NFL Great Terrell Owens was also in attendance.

The schedule of events included 18 Holes of golf in a Four Person Shamble format, followed by Cognac & Cigars; an Awards Luncheon and a Silent Auction consisting of a variety of sports memorabilia autographed by basketball legends.
