Go to Church with Bob Schneider, Will Taylor and Strings Attached / The Gospel According to Bob
Bob Schneider joins Will Taylor and Strings Attached for a performance on Friday, March 24, 2006 at 7:30pm and 10:00pm at St. David's in downtown Austin, Texas
(PRWEB) February 25, 2006 -- On Friday, March 24th, 2006, the truly “Austintatious” music series will feature Bob Schneider in two shows, at 7:30pm and 10:00 pm, at the beautiful St. David’s church in downtown Austin.
Bob Schneider has rocked Austin’s music scene since 1990, performing with bands Joe Rockhead, The Ugly Americans, The Scabs, Lonelyland, and his own solo projects. Unlike many performers, who tend to hit only one personality note (sneering bravura or despondent soulfulness), Bob manages to embody and simultaneously lampoon every single persona you can think of within a two-hour show. When it comes to musical styles and genres, he is a daredevil of versatility—able to go from twangy country crooner to spit-screaming punk, from Latin salsa king to mellow reggae man, from funk soul brother to white-boy trash rapper, all with perfect fluidity and commanding virtuosity. In addition to his chameleonic tendencies, Bob has the ability to persuade audiences to enjoy a kind of music that they may have detested previously (such as bluegrass, perhaps, or polka). Never artists to be pigeonholed into one genre, who knows what Will and Bob will produce for this one-time only show.
Will Taylor and Strings Attached pair some of Austin’s most popular singer-songwriters with acoustic “chamber” instruments, such as cello, violin, viola, trumpet and drums; a musical experiment in the spirit of creativity and fun. The result is magic: a one-night only performance of unique and exciting arrangements that blur the boundaries between pop, jazz, rock, and classical music.
