The Public Eye, a daily three-minute news, commentary and entertainment video blog debuts a national search for video correspondents with a video submission contest.

We accept a wide variety of genres from homemade films, animated programs or short features

Celebrating the airing of its 100th episode, The Public Eye, http://www.thepubliceye.tv, a daily news and entertainment video blog, today announced a contest to solicit video submissions.

“We accept a wide variety of genres from homemade films, animated programs or short features,” said Jack Hardy, producer. “If you have funny footage of animal antics, a friend’s wedding or an embarrassing moment, we can’t wait to watch it. Our slogan is ‘capture and share the spotlight’ and this could be your 15-seconds of fame.” In keeping with a family friendly policy, the program does not accept video intended to incite hate, depictions of extreme violence or nudity.

The contest begins February 27, 2006 and ends at midnight on March 15, 2006. Each contributor will be acknowledged on the Web site and the video judged to be the most entertaining by our staff will win $100 cash — in recognition of the 100th episode anniversary. Acceptable video submissions will be 15 seconds to two minutes in length and playable in Windows Media Player or QuickTime Player (AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV, or MP4).

Video contributors who wish to submit their own video footage are requested to send an e-mail query via the Contact Us form on The Public Eye Web site: http://www.thepubliceye.tv/emailForm.php to receive the URL and password to a secure FTP site where they can upload the video footage.
