Face Off with a NYC Landmark - - and Win a Facial
A Free Beauty-Loving Face Peel Awaits One Lucky Winner
New York, NY (PRWEB) February 26, 2006 -- To call attention to the plight of a dilapidated nineteenth century landmark that the New York Public Library has damaged, a group of artists has announced a contest.
There is no application fee. And it's easy to enter.
Just visit the web site of Jefferson Market Court - - - jeffersonmarketcourthouseny.blogspot.com - - and suggest ONE song that seems most suitable for this Greenwich Village landmark located on Sixth Avenue at 9th Street.
One winner will be selected.
The unisex prize is one bottle of Sampar's Equalizing Foam Peel, a luscious mousse that minimizes wrinkles and rejuvenates the complexion.
"What we're trying to do - - by having the contest - - is to raise awareness about this Gothic Venetian facade that very badly needs rejuvenation," said Connie Bradford, Managing Director, COURTING MAE WEST PRODUCTIONS.
ABOUT JEFFERSON MARKET COURT: Architects Calvert Vaux and Frederick Withers designed Jefferson Market Courthouse complex, built 1873-1877. The style has been called “high Victorian gothic” as well as “Venetian” and “neo-late Romanesque” not unlike Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, constructed for King Ludwig of Bavaria. Shortly after this judicial complex was completed, it was considered one of the ten most beautiful buildings in America. By 1973, however, most of the buildings had been abandoned or demolished. The red brick and limestone laced courthouse was restored and adapted for re-use as a public library in 1967.
Contest Rules: To enter send ONE song title on a postcard and don't forget to include shipping information, in case you win the prize. Postcards should be mailed to COURTING MAE WEST PRODUCTIONS, 24 Fifth Avenue, Box # 611, New York, NY 10011-8817. Enter as often as you like but only ONE song title is permitted per postcard. Contest ends July 1, 2006.
