The overall goal of any development effort is to increase the participants' capability to meet emerging business needs. But many organizations do not involve line leaders in employee development, thereby missing this important strategic link. Linda Dunkel, President and CEO of Interaction Associates, joins Carolyn Fischer, Vice President of Organization Development, Comcast, to present on this topic at the 2006 Spring Chief Learning Officer Symposium, taking place March 15-17, 2006, at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island, FL.

Linda Dunkel, President and CEO of Interaction Associates, joins Carolyn Fischer, Vice President of Organization Development, Comcast, from 2:30-3:30 Thursday, March 16, 2006, to present the session, “Involving Line Leaders in Employee Development,” at the 2006 Spring Chief Learning Officer Symposium.

The Symposium's theme is "Driving Peak Performance: Critical Strategies for Learning Leaders." The conference will take place March 15-17, 2006, at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island, FL.

Linda Dunkel said, “The overall goal of any development effort is to increase the participants' capability to meet emerging business needs. Understanding the organization's critical initiatives and linking to those initiatives is critical. The successful CLO builds relationships with business-unit managers and establishes credibility inside the organization as a strategic business partner. By involving line leaders in every phase of employee development, the savvy CLO advances strategic business goals, ensures organizational support for learning initiatives, and even boosts the organization's bottom line.”

This session will provide CLOs with a practical approach, a review of best practices, and a flexible, scalable tool for involving business unit leaders in learning initiatives. Case study examples will provide real-life stories of learning initiative designs that assessed business unit leaders' interests, secured their buy-in and support, and even moved the bottom line.

The event is an opportunity to network with peers and participate in engaging and valuable sessions on learning and development in today's business environment.
