3rd Annual Urban Gospel Industry Awards Nominations Now Open

Beginning February 15th, gospel enthusiasts and fans were invited to participate in the 3rd Annual Urban Gospel Industry (UGI) Awards nominations process.

Oakland CA (PRWEB) February 26, 2006 -- Beginning February 15th, gospel enthusiasts and fans were invited to participate in the 3rd Annual Urban Gospel Industry (UGI) Awards nominations process.

With categories ranging from contemporary gospel to holy hip hop, and from comedy to inspirational jazz, the UGI Awards are set to honor the best in the industry for the third year in a row.

While qualified industry personnel had first dibs on nominating their favorites, the UGI Awards is setup to be a true “people’s choice” awards. The general gospel music loving public now has a chance to let their Voice be heard on who they deem as the best and the brightest.

The official nomination ballot can be accessed at www.urbangospelalliance.com (only 1 vote per household). At the close of nominations on April 15th, the top 5 vote getters in each category will be official nominees and will appear on the final ballot. Deciding votes will be cast by members of the sponsoring organization, the Urban Gospel Alliance. Official nominees will be announced May 15th, 2006, to coincide with the Bobby Jones International Gospel Industry Retreat.

Partnering again with the Edwin & Walter Hawkins Music & Arts Love Fellowship Conference, the UGI Awards are set for Houston, TX on June 28, 2006. The weeklong conference will include panels and workshops geared toward the urban gospel industry and ministry, while giving attendees opportunities to participate in many mainstream gospel events.
