January Proves to be Bumper Month for Online Divorce

Online divorce is growing at a phenomenal rate in UK

(PRWEB) February 27, 2006 -- January has always been the busiest month of the year for traditional divorce lawyers, but it seems the trend is also being mirrored online according to leading online divorce company www.divorce-online.co.uk

The company which started providing divorce services online in 1999 has seen double figure growth in the number of people using the service each year and January 2006 was the busiest month the company has ever experienced with over 400 couples applying for divorces, an increase of 33% on 2004.

Mark Keenan, the founder and Managing Director of the service puts the continued growth down to three things; the growth in broadband and e-commerce; high court and Solicitors fees and excellent service from Divorce-Online which leads to referrals.

”41% of all our users type in our web address directly without coming to us from a search engine, which means they must have obtained our details from someone who knows about us or has used us in the past.” Says Keenan.

"The traditional high street Solicitor is still stuck in the past, charging high hourly rates for an uncontested divorce. Whereas the most expensive divorce product at Divorce-Online costs just £285.00 and includes a divorce, agreed financial order and a will and we manage everything for the client from start to finish. A high street Solicitor will charge at least £1000 for the same service and the fees depend on how much time it takes not the quality of the service"

Mark Keenan believes that legal services provided online are reaching a tipping point and within 10 years most people will use online services to do their divorce, buy their house or make their will as it is so convenient and cheaper.

High street solicitors will either have to change the way they work or die out.
