Moonglo Publishing Releases a New Book of Historical Fiction, Common Soldier – A Civil War Saga, by Paul K. Cashdollar

Experience the American Civil War with a personal touch, as seen through the eyes of a common soldier. It is a story of love, friendship, and patriotism.

Butler, PA (PRWEB) February 27, 2006 – There are many books about the Civil War, but few touch on the personal side of the greatest conflict our country has ever known. Paul K. Cashdollar has written just such a book, Common Soldier – A Civil War Saga. The book is a fictional account based loosely on the life of his great-grandfather, Lewis Cox, who was an actual Civil War Soldier who served in the 62nd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry.

Lewis Cox was content to work on his farm and provide veterinary care for his animals and those of his neighbors. He was in love and planned to marry, but much to his dismay war broke out between the states and threatened to tear the country apart. His patriotism would not permit him to ignore the needs of his country. Against the wishes of his fiancée and family he enlisted in the Union Army.

Hear and feel what life was like in the camps and on the battlefields as you travel with the 62nd Pennsylvania Volunteers to such places as Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg.

The places of battle and the actual engagements of the 62nd Pennsylvania are historically accurate and are made to come alive through the fictional interaction of the soldiers involved. Their conversations and devotion to each other are so real you will feel as if you are with them as they face the biggest conflict of their lives.
