Cymfony was named to KMWolrd's "100 Companies That Matter in Knowledge Management" in 2006 for the second year in a row. Cymfony has been recognized following a year of new developments in consumer-generated and mainstream media research.

Cymfony, a leader in mainstream and consumer-generated media research and analysis, today announced that the company was named by KMWorld magazine as one of the 100 companies that matter in knowledge management. KMWorld recognized Cymfony as demonstrating “customer-driven agile innovation.” This marks the second year in a row that Cymfony has been named to the list.

Last year, Cymfony launched Orchestra, a Web-based service that extracts actionable market knowledge -- including insight into consumer behaviors and emerging market trends -- by monitoring, measuring and analyzing both mainstream and consumer-generated media. Cymfony has also augmented its offerings with the addition of research analysts who interpret the rich information derived from Orchestra’s InfoXtract text mining engine and is offering packaged services and solutions dedicated to solving business problems.

“The list is conceived as a way to recognize some of the organizations leading the way in the knowledge economy. It’s designed to encourage a broader discussion of KM,” said Hugh McKellar, editor-in-chief, KMWorld. “Criteria for inclusion differ, of course, as do the technologies recognized, but all companies share the following: Each has helped to create a market, redefine one or enhance one, and all of them demonstrate the capacity for customer-driven agile innovation.”

Compiled informally through discussions with knowledge management practitioners, theorists, vendors, customers, analysts, and editors, KMWorld assembled the list of organizations leading the way in the knowledge economy to generate interest in and discussion about knowledge management tools and services.

“KMWorld’s recognition of Cymfony as one of the ‘100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management’ strengthens our belief that it is critical for companies to look holistically at both consumer-generated media and mainstream media in order to manage and enhance their brands,” said Cymfony CEO Andrew Bernstein. “This is a particularly significant honor because KMWorld and its readers understand the value of the market intelligence Cymfony is able to deliver and it is a reflection on the increasing importance and influence of consumer-generated media.”
