Dantel, Inc. announced the latest addition to its range of solutions to supercharge existing alarm systems. Recognizing the challenges of tight capital, limited personnel and the need to leverage companys’ investments in existing systems, Dantel continues to grow advanced technology solutions into alarm equipment already in use.
Two of these existing solutions are powered by Dantel’s PointMaster® Eagle. The Fast Scan Direct and Eagle Smartblock Adapter Kit are both designed to replace obsolete Scan & Control and Alarm SmartBlocks without re-terminating any of the existing alarm input wiring. These pre-wired and connectorized solutions make replacements simple, typically taking about an hour. By engineering these offerings to be plug-and-play ready, system downtime and technician expenses are greatly reduced.
Dantel VisionMaster® provides a Windows® based replacement for the obsolete Status Monitors. Delivering an intuitive display and simplified troubleshooting, VisionMaster makes testing and diagnostics of service impacting events easier than ever.
The newest addition to Dantel’s portfolio is E2A/IP. Just like the company’s other solutions, the E2A/IP kit allows users to leverage existing alarm equipment. Dantel provides the means to seamlessly move E2A protocol alarm transport from cumbersome 4-wire analog circuits to TCP/IP networks, eliminating the cost associated with maintaining these older technology networks.
“Our latest solution was developed because analog networks are sensitive and prone to numerous maintenance issues,” said Al Hutcheson, president and CEO of Dantel. “This new concept will reduce the maintenance costs by employing highly reliable TCP/IP networking and incorporating the self healing characteristics available in our design.”
The E2A/IP design utilizes a combination of components, delivering a clean conversion process and has been extensively tested with the NMA® platform by a major telecommunications laboratory. This solution does not affect the configuration in the Network Operations Center. At the NMA host site, the WebMon® Matrix is positioned as an interface to the remote sites. At the remote ends, a simple Dantel E2A/IP subassembly directly replaces the existing analog modem. No additional engineering for relay rack space is required. The existing alarm shelf becomes IP ready and can be configured in a matter of minutes. This Dantel solution can also be adapted for use with non-Dantel E2A devices.
“For the operators that currently use Dantel’s legacy monitoring systems, this integrated IP solution is extremely cost effective -- no new external hardware is needed in the Central Office for these conversions,” Hutcheson added. “Competitive configurations require additional equipment and occupy valuable space at both ends to approach this same result. Telecommunication carriers that are not currently Dantel customers may also take advantage of our many IP solutions.”
Dantel will be featuring this and many other systems that support network operations at booth (#2311) at TelecomNext, March 21-22, 2006 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas. http://www.telecom-next.com
