Detroit, Michigan (PRWEB) March 1, 2006
Telematics Detroit, now in its sixth year, is the industry’s leading business conference and exhibition. On the 23 -24 of May industry pioneers, market movers and visionaries will descend on the Rock Financial Show Place in Novi, Detroit – Michigan’s newest and biggest events centre – to discuss the next steps in automotive entertainment, safety, navigation and more.
The theme of the event is how to make telematics vital to the i-Generation – the young-adult demographic of tech savvy consumers who have a lifetimes worth of repeat business to offer companies that can offer them the seamless digital driving experience they desire.
This year Telematics Detroit promises more than ever before, in addition to the high quality keynote sessions for which the event is known, the agenda this year includes sessions on: Digital Rights Management, infotainment content, e-safety systems, driver distraction, fleet management, remote diagnostics, car PCs, global perspectives for Telematics and many other new and exciting topics that cover the whole realm of what’s possible using telematics technology.
This expanded agenda promises to offer an unprecedented number of industry speakers – more than 35 are already confirmed including representatives from: OnStar, Nissan, Ford, BMW, Panasonic, JD Power, TomTom and Bluetooth SIG
In addition the event promises more networking. Increased presence from auto makers has been assured by the giving away of 100 free conference passes to US car makers. Several delegates from GM, Honda, Ford, Nissan, DaimlerChrysler, Hyundai and Toyota have already confirmed their slots.
Alongside the conference, the world’s largest telematics-specific exhibition will showcase the latest products and technology. The exhibition is free for all conference attendees and to anyone who pre-registers on the website.
On the evening of May 23rd, after the conclusion of the first day of the conference, the prestigious International Telematics Awards dinner will celebrate the achievements of the industry’s leading players. Last year, OnStar was the only multiple winners, coming out on top in three of the eleven categories, and it will be interesting to see if the company can match this achievement in the face of increased competition this year. Submission of entries for the awards is free, and the deadline for nominations is March 24th. Visit http://www.telematicsawards.com/ to enter your company.
