American Sentinel University Expands Operations in China

U.S. online university grows Dahongying campus, adds to local faculty, and develops seminars taught by U.S. professors

Englewood, CO (PRWEB) March 1, 2006 -- American Sentinel University, an accredited online university serving more than 4,500 students in 120 countries, is expanding its local operations in the city of Ningbo, China. American Sentinel was formed through the merging of American Graduate School of Management, Sentinel University, and ACCIS (American College of Computer & Information Sciences). The ACCIS division has been active in China since 2004, with its partner Dahongying. The strength of the combined American Sentinel operation enables the program to grow through increased local faculty as well as frequent seminar visits by U.S. faculty.

The partnership currently grants U.S.-accredited bachelor degrees in information science, computer science, management information systems, and business administration. “We already operate in a dedicated building, with our own Chinese faculty and labs,” says Natalie Nixon, International Program Director for American Sentinel. “With an expanded campus space now cleared for construction, we will be able to increase enrollment and widen our program offerings.”

China presents a huge growth opportunity for us,” adds Dr. Richard Oliver, CEO of American Sentinel University. “In meetings with key partners in China this week, we are confirming plans to meet the incredible demand there for comprehensive, U.S.-based degree programs. We expect to double our current enrollments by mid-2007.”
