Designer Grace Wang-Bishop’s studio enters the new season with a fresh look and a unique line of jewelry and stationery products.

ZN Creative Arts, a Chicago based studio that offers jewelry, bookmarks and stationery products is set to open their new online shop on March 7th, 2006. The new website will feature not only a completely new look and new products, but will also allow customers to purchase their unique handcrafted designs directly online.

Wishing to include customers in the design process, ZN Creative Arts is leaving the choice of color combinations to ZN customers on select products such as the enamel flower necklace and the enamel stitch series necklaces. Customers will be able to select the color of the pendant as well as pick the cord color of their choice to complete the design. As most ZN products are made to order, the carefully handcrafted pieces will ship from the studio in approximately 2 weeks from the time the order is placed.

“We are very excited about all the possibilities the new website will bring. I believe it will pull us closer to our customers and the people that appreciate our designs”, says Grace Wang-Bishop, designer and owner of ZN Creative Arts. Indeed, http://www.zncreativearts.com visitors are encouraged to sign up for the ZN mailing list to be informed of up coming events and members-only promotions.

With jewelry products ranging from rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings, designer, Wang-Bishop, who specializes in enameling and silversmithing, gets most her inspirations from her surroundings. The influences from Wang-Bishop’s professional background in graphic and industrial design are apparent in her creations. “The various enameling techniques have opened up a door for me to apply my graphic and color skills into bold, eye-catching pieces of wearable art, whereas my training in industrial design has helped me tremendously in finding creative ways to structure materials into 3-dimensional objects”, Wang-Bishop explains. This is not to say that her Chinese heritage hasn’t played a big part in her designs. Though the colors and shapes of pieces such as the enamel bamboo and enamel lotus necklace create a contemporary look and feel, they are actually based on popular subjects in traditional Chinese calligraphy paintings.

Now entering it's third year of operation, the studio is focusing on becoming much more visible in the coming year. Plans include appearances in a number of art fairs and shows across the Chicago area this summer and fall. The jewelry studio's products also continue to be featured in a number of boutiques in the community. The new website will also make it easier to add additional outlets for ZN products; prospective vendors will be able to apply for an account online.
