Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) March 1, 2006
The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global professional association and educator in talent management strategies, announced today that Dr. Philippe Baumard, one of the world's leading experts in tacit learning, imagination, and innovation, will speak at HCI's inaugural National Human Capital Summit, to be held in Chicago April 6-7.
Day one of the Summit, Baumard presents "Innovation and Talent Strategies for Achieving Competitive Advantage," a session focused on helping organizations identify and develop top creative talent by tapping into different kinds of knowledge.
"Unconscious preferences and intelligence signals drive personal and organizational preference. Nevertheless, this knowledge is frequently overlooked or discounted when analyzing and developing talent management strategies," said Allan Schweyer, HCI's Executive Director. "Philippe Baumard, a thought leader in this area, is uniquely qualified to help organizations understand and implement strategies that encompass a broader spectrum of knowledge-strategies that will give them competitive advantage."
Dr. Philippe Baumard is a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley Institute of Business and Economic Research (IBER) and Haas School of Business, where he teaches strategic management. He is also a professor at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Aix-en-Provence, France.
Baumard is known worldwide for his research, which is focused in three areas: tacit knowledge in organizations, managerial cognition, and strategic management. He has taught and consulted on knowledge and intelligence issues in many countries, including China, Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Norway, France, and the United States.
The author of eight books, including "Managing Imaginary Organizations" and "Tacit Knowledge in Organizations," Philippe Baumard has received numerous awards and honors for his work.
