Whitney, TX (PRWEB) March 1, 2006 -- In a unique writing event co-sponsored by Dee Dee Raap, the author of Dear Mom: Remembering, Celebrating, Healing and the Academy for Coaching Parents International (www.ACPI.biz), writers and would-be writers are encouraged to share their thoughts and dreams in letters penned to their Mom.

In her poignantly written volume, Ms Raap has addressed letters to her deceased Mother—gone for almost a decade—but still remembered and embraced for her love, her values, and her relationship with her daughter. Dee Dee’s Mother died without good byes or closure, and Dee Dee seized upon the development of this book as a catharsis for healing, nurtured by the wonderful memories between a young woman and her Mother. Dee Dee wrote this book as a testament to her Mother, her values and life. In addition, she serves as an Instructor at ACPI.

ACPI, established by Dr. Caron Goode, offers a phenomenal multitrack instructional program with successful graduates entering roles as Parent Coaching Advocates and Practitioners. In offering this unique program leading to certification as a Certified Parent Coach, ACPI has attracted top thinkers in the world of Parenting as both participants and practitioners/instructors. With stellar academic credentials and practical experience both in the public and the private arena, ACPI serves as both the advisal group and umbrella organization for groups around the globe, and is accepted as an expert in the field of Parent Coaching.

“Dee Dee and I are thrilled to launch this writing contest designed to allow the honesty and integrity of feelings to help writer/entrants craft their letters to Mom,” said Dr. Goode, Director of the Academy. “We believe that many will find this exercise beneficial, will soon realize the immense impact that parents have upon their children, and will come to embrace the concept of Parent Coaching. Moreover, we believe that participants will think, reflect, smile, cry, laugh, and ultimately seize both the warmth and the healing inherent in a heartfelt celebration of their Mother’s love—and her teaching and guidance that has impacted them throughout their lives.”

The contest is open to anyone 16 years of age and older. Written letters may be submitted through two web sites: www.DearMomBook.com, and www.academyforcoachingparents.com. Letters must be typed and submitted via e-mail or to the addresses provided on the web pages. Entries may be submitted between March 1 and June 1, 2006.
