Broadband Users Demand Better Value
A new service was launched today to enable UK internet users to get the best deal for their home or business broadband.
(PRWEB) March 4, 2006 -- With a recent influx of broadband providers to the UK market combined with the advent of the broadband package deal whereby users can purchase TV, Broadband and home phone services from the same supplier; a new service has launched today aimed at simplifying the marketplace.
www.bargain-broadband.co.uk allows potential broadband customers to see what deals are available for them by using an availability checker. The user enters their postcode and phone number and the service then displays which broadband providers are available in their area. All the available deals are then displayed and users can sort them based on a number of criteria including usage allowance, monthly costs, first year costs or connection speed.
Site owner Duncan Popham of Chosen4You limited launched the service due to an increasingly complex broadband marketplace: “As the UK broadband market has matured, consumers are easily confused as to what deals are actually available to them. With broadband penetration at an all-time high, it is vital that UK consumers are armed with the knowledge to enable them to pick the right deal for their home or business”
Many broadband providers are now adding additional services to their core offering in order to grab the attention of the user. Mr Popham warns against making a snap decision – “Although many so-called “bundle” deals look like great value, its worth checking that they are available in your area, what contract period you are signing up for and comparing the first year cost to similar services. The holy grail for telecommunications companies is to provide Broadband, TV and telephone services but the consumer may be better served to use three different providers.”
Packages featured on Bargain Broadband range from a first year cost of £117 all the way to £600. Most UK suppliers are featured including BT Broadband, Wanadoo and NTL.
