(PRWEB) March 4, 2006 -- Leading book recommendation website http://www.whatshouldireadnext.com has passed both the 300,000 visitors and 10,000 registered users marks - all on World Book Day, 2nd March, proving that books are as popular as ever.
The site, which only launched in October 2005, invites users to enter the last book they enjoyed, and gives instant, targeted recommendations based on the mass tastes of the reading public.
Users can also register for free and build their own lists of books they like - and those they dislike - which also helps to expand the site's huge and growing database.
"We liken it to browsing the bookshelves of a very, very well read friend," said Andrew Chapman, Creative Director of Thoughtplay, the creative consultancy behind the site. "In fact, we've hit a third milestone this week, too - there are now more than 20,000 books listed in our database, and this is growing every day."
"It all goes to prove that books are far from a dying medium - what people particularly appreciate are new ways of reaching them when the bookshops can only find room for bestsellers. We let people find books they'll like based purely on other people's taste."
