Nonprofit Executive Directors Find More than Tea & Sympathy at Philadelphia's Nonprofit Center
Nonprofit executives from throughout the Delaware Valley are finding emotional support and problem-solving strategies through a peer support program run by the Nonprofit Center at La Salle University.
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) March 5, 2006 -- Nonprofit executives from throughout the Delaware Valley are finding emotional support and problem-solving strategies through a peer support program run by the Nonprofit Center at La Salle University.
CLEAR Circles (Cultivating Leadership, Excellence and Responsibility) are small peer-directed support groups for nonprofit leaders who are finding that the groups provide new insights in a supportive and confidential environment that enables them to learn from each other and share experiences that they would never raise with co-workers or board members.
“Both the corporate world and the non-profit sector are recognizing that their executives need a place to voice concerns and frustrations and collaborate in a confidential and supportive environment,” said Laura Otten, director of the Nonprofit Center and an experienced CLEAR Circle facilitator. “For the region’s nonprofits, CLEAR Circles provide that safe space, tackling issues that cross many organizational lines.” she added.
CLEAR Circles consist of seven or eight nonprofit directors who commit to meet monthly for nine months. “These innovative programs have proven so effective that the majority continue after the initial nine month commitment ends,” Otten said.
A free information on how CLEAR Circles work and what they offer is being held by the Nonprofit Center on March 21 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, 123 S. Broad St., 28th floor, Phila. In April, new circles will be forming in Southern New Jersey and West Philadelphia.
