Tickets Now Available for First Long Island Beer Festival

Tickets are now available online for the first Long Island Beer Festival, which will feature hundreds of gourmet beers and dozens of Long Island's finest restaurants.

Huntington, NY (PRWEB) March 6, 2006 -- Tickets for the first Long Island Beer Festival, to be held on Friday, May 12, at the Hilton Long Island Hotel in Melville, NY, are available online at www.longislandbeerfestival.com. The price of a ticket is $45. The festival will benefit North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington, NY.

Sponsored by Shoreline Beverage, Long Island’s leading specialty beer retailer, the Long Island Beer Festival will bring together hundreds of exclusive gourmet beers from around Long Island, New York State, the country and the world. In addition to the beer, dozens of Long Island’s finest restaurants will be serving samples of their specialties.

“Like wine, today's handcrafted beers can be paired deliciously with gourmet foods,” said Stuart Haimes, owner of Shoreline Beverage and the festival’s organizer. “The Long Island Beer Festival will give attendees many opportunities to experience the excitement associated with tasting the world's finest beers – all in one location.”

The event will include tutored tastings and guest speakers, among them Brooklyn Brewery Brewmaster Garrett Oliver, author of the Brewmaster’s Table. There also will be live music and door prizes.

The Long Island Beer Festival will allow beer enthusiasts to have an opportunity to taste, learn about, and appreciate the handcrafted ales and lagers of the world, many of them available elsewhere in the region. Ticket sales will be limited to 3,000 to prevent overcrowding and make the event enjoyable for everyone.

Guests, who must be 21 and older, will be encouraged to drink responsibly. Free shuttle service will be available between the event and the Long Island Railroad station in Huntington.

The event will take place in the Hilton’s 10,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom and will run from 6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m.
