LostPetSOS.org is a new community service organization that provides a nationwide online database for pet owners to search for and report lost pets.

LostPetSOS.org is pleased to announce the debut of its new online database of lost and found pets. The new service was created to provide online searching and reporting capabilities both for owners of lost pets and for other caring pet lovers who want to report stray pets they've found. LostPetSOS.org is free to use, and already contains over 650 reports of lost and found pets, and the numbers are growing daily.

The nationwide community service was launched in June 2005 in response to the homeless pet statistics provided by the Humane Society of the United States, who estimates that more than six million dogs and cats will enter shelters this year. While these statistics are staggering, they do not include the large number of homeless pets still on the streets, left to fend for themselves.

"I love animals, and I was frustrated because I see stray pets wandering the streets all the time looking so sad and lost," says founder, Pamela Brimhall. "I wanted to do something to help, so I started LostPetSOS.org." The website's URL is: http://www.LostPetSOS.org.

About LostPetSOS.org:
