Les Routiers “Inn of the Year” - the Latest UK Hotspot

After winning the esteemed Les Routiers ‘Inn of the Year’ award in 2005, the Swan Inn is now one of the UK’s most sought after boutique hotels.

(PRWEB) March 6, 2006 -- The close of 2005 brought hotelier, Daniel Hall, well-deserved critical acclaim when his establishment, the Swan Inn was awarded “Inn of the Year” by the esteemed Les Routiers guide. Mr Hall purchased the Swan Inn in 2001, and following extensive renovations, re-launched the property in autumn 2004, bringing a slice of boutique-chic to Chiddingfold, near Guildford, Surrey www.theswaninn.biz.

The Swan Inn is a hotel, restaurant and bar that combines contemporary design with family-run charm. Located in the tranquil Surrey countryside the converted 15th Century pub has 11 state-of-the-art rooms, in-door and out-door dining, cosy bar and large garden for summer socialising.

The inspiration for Mr Hall’s current success began during his childhood gastronomic tours of France with his family. Charmed by the hotels and restaurants of the region, at the age of 13 he made the decision to dedicate his life to the hospitality industry. Completing his hospitality degree gave Mr Hall the tools he needed to successfully work his way up through the ranks from dishwasher to awarding-winning Hotelier.

The Swan Inn is a family affair. Mr Hall’s brother, Warren Hall, created the elegant interiors using warm, natural tones with a touch of high-tech where it counts: air-conditioning and entertainment. He used teak in both the bedrooms and bathrooms bringing a hint of the orient to the design. Bulgari toiletries in the bathrooms complete the sense of luxury. Continuing with the family theme, Mrs Hall (Daniel and Warren’s mother) takes pride in arrange the hotel’s flowers and makes delicious, home-made jam for the breakfast menu.

The restaurant’s welcoming family-feel and top-notch food attracts visitors from near and far. The menu offers a selection of cuisine including traditional, British comfort food and classic, French favourites. Mr Hall makes regular pilgrimages to the markets of France and the UK ensuring only the finest, freshest ingredients are used. The main restaurant is non-smoking, however the bar contains space for a further 30 covers to accommodate smokers. In the summer months you can dine in the Swan Inn’s spacious garden area.

Rooms start from £65 mid-week, £80 on weekends and include a continental breakfast. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and to non-guests for Sunday breakfast.
