Continuing on the success of footscape holidays last year we have now included accompanied tours and a tour of the finest country gardens in Dorset.

Footscape, the specialist provider of walking holidays and heritage tours in Dorset, has added a Gardens tour and a Thomas Hardy tour - for walkers and non-walkers - to its range of holidays in 2006. The Thomas Hardy tour (3 nights) is packed with interest, including key places associated with Hardy’s life and work, as well as with his friend T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia). The Gardens tour (also 3 nights) visits five of Dorset’s most beautiful gardens.

Also new for 2006 are guided walking breaks in the beautiful region of Purbeck, combining the stunning scenery of the Jurassic Coast with panoramic inland ridges and unspoilt villages, including Corfe Castle.

Footscape is based in Dorset and operates exclusively in Dorset, which is why it can provide a very personal service ensuring a hassle-free experience from start to finish.

A client from Canada wrote in October 2005, after his Footscape holiday:“The attention and service you provided were nothing less than superb …. You bent over backwards to ensure that our every need was met. … I need scarcely say that I shall recommend Footscape most highly to those seeking a memorable, worry-free holiday in one of England’s most beautiful and unspoilt areas.”

Footscape offers a small but meticulously researched range of self-guided walking holidays along the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and through the timeless countryside and villages of the interior. These are inclusive of a choice of hand-picked accommodation, transportation to and from the trail (where required), ordnance survey maps and its own trail guidebooks that provide practical information, detailed walking directions and descriptions of the history, legends and personalities of key places along the trail. No crack of dawn starts, no heavy packs to carry, no angst. Footscape clients can walk at their own pace through landscapes of astounding beauty that are accessible only on foot.

On most Footscape holidays people can walk as much or as little as they want. So families or groups of friends with varying levels of enthusiasm or aptitude for walking can enjoy the Footscape experience together.

A Footscape holiday would be an ideal way of discovering Dorset before it becomes a major tourist destination.
