Erie Plastics Ramps Up Innovation Center Via Four New Hires
Erie Plastics, a Top 100 injection molder in the U.S., advances its Innovation Center through key appointments.
ERIE, PA (PRWEB) March 7, 2006 –- Erie Plastics’ Innovation Center is on the move in 2006 with the hiring of four new employees, who bring a combined 64 years’ experience to the Center.
NEW HIRES:
Coy Herald is a new Senior Design Engineer at Erie Plastics’ Innovation Center. With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, Herald has 13 years’ experience in product design, including closures, consumer and industrial packaging, and medical devices. Formerly, Herald held engineering and product development positions at Rieke Corporation, Alcoa CSI, AC Engineering, Inc., and Automated Analysis Corporation.
Charles Webster joined Erie Plastics as Senior Project Engineer and has 27 years’ experience in product and tool design, project engineering, material selection, and management in the consumer packaging industry. Webster’s work experience spans engineering and product development positions at Portola Packaging, Inc., West Pharmaceutical Services and Owens-Illinois, among others.
Philip Thornton joined Erie Plastics’ Innovation Center as a Tooling Engineer. He possesses 22 years of experience in mold making and design, CAD operations and CAM programming. For the past nine years, Thornton worked at The Little Tikes Company, where he directed design, quoting, acquisition and maintenance of both injection and blow molds.
Erie Plastics also hired a new CAD Specialist, Jacob Kent, who graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Plastics Engineering in 2004. Kent most recently held the post of Process Engineer at Niagara Caps & Plugs.
