Osprey Media Selects VoicePort
Osprey Media selects VoicePort’s speech IVR, CircPort as an OnSite solution for its twenty-two daily newspapers.
Pittsford, NY / Markham, ON (PRWEB) March 7, 2006 -- Osprey Media, the parent company to twenty-two daily newspapers with paid circulations totaling more than 309,000 daily, has selected VoicePort’s speech IVR, CircPort as an OnSite solution.
Utilizing advanced speech recognition technology, the CircPort application automates a variety of circulation tasks. The solution is completely integrated to the newspaper’s PBS circulation database and provides cost saving advantages to fit each newspaper’s circulation size and budget. In addition, the VoicePort solution includes a circulation gateway application between the Harris classified system and the PBS circulation database both in use at Osprey. This interface allows classified agents to determine if callers placing an ad are current subscribers, thereby increasing their opportunities to up-sell. CircPort eliminates customer hold times and allows for live service agents to concentrate on higher value tasks resulting in both productivity and customer satisfaction.
In the summer of 2005, Osprey Media began testing the hosted version of the CircPort application in three of their daily newspapers: St. Catharines Standard, Niagara Falls Review and Welland Tribune. Due to the success of these implementations, eight further newspapers were placed on the system. The decision to purchase the OnSite solution will transfer the remaining eleven daily newspapers to the CircPort application, in one consolidated service center. Each newspaper will have the opportunity to customize the solution to meet their specific needs.
“VoicePort’s application proved successful in every Osprey newspaper it was implemented in,” said Jack Mulchinock, Vice President of Information Technology at Osprey Media. “The cost savings have been significant.” This coming May, Jack will be speaking about consolidation of call centers and the implementation of voice automation at the GenieSummit in Montreal, Canada.
“The continuous expansion within Osprey Media has been a great success,” said Chris Mann, President of VoicePort. “The purchase of the OnSite solution was the natural next step for Osprey to improve their bottom line.”
