Suicide Bombers Can Be Pre-Identified, And Stopped.
More US Diplomats on foreign soil are in danger as suicide bombings increase. Even the President cannot be completely protected. A new profiling method by author Dan Korem can save lives.
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) March 7, 2006 -- President Bush’s visit to Pakistan has sparked violence from those in that country who are fearful of, and angry at, authority figures. In his book, “Rage of the Random Actor,” Dan Korem explains how communities can identify this potential and intercede. The ‘Random Actor’ is someone who lives with fearful thoughts and unpredictable behaviors. The vast majority of those with the ‘Random Actor’ profile are not violent, but certain events can ‘trigger’ their rage.
“In the past, attacks were relatively easy to characterize as suicide attacks because attackers were observed wearing suicide vests. With improved technologies, though, classifying an attack as a suicide attack is becoming more difficult. In the absence of detailed crime scene analysis, which can be difficult and even life-threatening to facilitate during war or engagements with insurgents, the precise number of suicide attacks is only an estimate,” says Korem.
Suicide Bombers can be classified as a sub-set of those with the ‘Random Actor’ profile. Those who have the traits may act out their rage in the form of school shootings, such as the Columbine High School massacre; or in US Postal Shootings; or even random sniper attacks, such as the Muhammad-Malvo shootings in the Washington DC area.
In the course of developing an on-the-spot behavioral profile for corporate America, Dan developed “Rage of the Random Actor.” Only those with extreme behaviors that can be classified as ‘fearful’ and ‘unpredictable’ are susceptible to becoming ‘Random Actors.’ Some of society’s greatest advances have come from people with ‘unpredictable’ behaviors who make decisions out of confidence, not paranoia, like Microsoft’s Bill Gates.
The book points out that such acts of violence can be avoided. If a person has been identified as having ‘Random Actor’ traits, some simple steps, such as providing variation to their workday; put them into a non-bullying and team-building environment to minimize their paranoia, and mentor them to make decisions that build confidence. Some ‘Random Actors’ develop their traits by feeling left out of society and ignored by authority. Simply by taking the time and paying attention as you listen to them can calm the ‘Random Actor’ into a productive person.
Both the “Rage of the Random Actor” and “The Art of Profiling – Reading People Right the First Time” were written by Dan Korem as a way to provide the world with the means to stop violence against fellow human beings, to understand what sets off certain personality profiles to act out, and how to de-escalate the situation once it does occur. Dan also developed the Korem Profiling System, the first comprehensive, immediate, personality profiling method that can identify the “Random Actor.”
