Spyware Prevention and Removal Guide

Free guide on how to prevent spyware on Microsoft Windows, and how to remove any existing one using only freeware.

(PRWEB) March 10, 2006 -- Spyware - software which installs itself, usually without consent or even knowledge, and which refuses to be easily uninstalled, is one of the most common causes of computer problems - crashes, slowdowns and such - these days - possibly more so than viruses or worms.

Many less technical Windows users, and even some of the more technically aware ones, tend to quickly have their PCs full of spyware, without their knowledge, and usually have no idea of the cause of the problem, other than "my PC is getting slower and slower." They usually "solve" that problem by formatting and re-installing the operating system, but that is only a temporary solution, as the same Internet habits will quickly reintroduce spyware on the computer.

And, yet, spyware is not that hard to avoid, it does not require any kind of computer expertise, nor does it need any expensive anti-spyware program, many of which create more problems than they solve.

This short guide explains, without being too technical, and using only freely available software, how to avoid and remove spyware, on a Microsoft Windows PC.
