Fan Based Foundation Formed In Honor Of Kirby Puckett

Fans of the late great baseball star have created a foundation to carry on the work of Kirby Puckett.

Oak Grove, Minnesota (PRWEB) March 10, 2006 -- There is a new “fan-based” foundation to honor the charitable work done by Kirby Puckett. Kirby’s Corner has been organized to continue the missions that Puck found near and dear to his heart. His greatest fans will have the opportunity to see his work carried on in his honor.

The foundation “2 Help Now” is a non-profit organization that responds to community needs. 2 Help Now safeguards donor funds through the National Heritage Foundation who provides the charitable infrastructure and management for more than 7,000 foundations nationwide.

Thomas Jazdzewski is the executive director of 2 Help Now and lives in Oak Grove. Mr. Jazdzewski also serves as a philanthropic development advisor for the National Heritage Foundation who will be managing contributions for the foundation.

In his lifetime Kirby Puckett supported more people and more charities than we’ll ever know. His love for children and children’s causes is well documented. Kirby’s Corner will allow his fans to keep Kirby’s spirit alive by donating any amount to the foundation. “If everyone who grew to care about Kirby Puckett over gives one dollar we’ll be able to carry on his work for many years”, according to Thomas Jazdzewski. “Our goal will be to involve people who were close to Mr. Puckett, his friends or family, to advise and direct us in the selection of a director who will be responsible to use the donations in the same spirit as Kirby Puckett.

Kirby Puckett’s work is being well documented right now. Much of what he has done over the years has been done very quietly and without recognition. The love he showed for others and the time he spent for others made him the most beloved sports figure in Minnesota. We have an emotional need to continue the work of this great man. The common fans can’t do it by themselves but together we can have the kind of impact that Kirby had.

The love and admiration that we have for Kirby Puckett is earned by his selfless attitude and willingness to help those who needed it. His work needs to be carried on and our goal is to ensure that it happens and that it happens in a manner that would make Puck proud of what we’re doing.
