FaithWriters.com is Ready for Review

Any author will tell you that although writing a book may be a lot of work, marketing that same book is nothing short of hard labor. With print-on-demand technology and self-publishing options rapidly becoming popular alternatives to the traditional publishing route, more and more writers are now able to see their work in print. However, many of these same authors are discovering that the road to book sales can be a long and tiring one. With this in mind, FaithWriters.com has introduced their new book review service, designed specifically to help new writers with the promotion of their books.

FaithWriters’ Book Review Coordinator, Deborah Porter, said, “With so many FaithWriters’ members publishing their own books these days, we saw an opportunity to be able to help them with the marketing of their work. After all, that is the very heartbeat of FaithWriters.com--helping Christian writers to reach their potential and fulfill their God-given destiny.”

Book reviews are not completely new territory for FaithWriters. Reviews were originally introduced as part of the ‘Well Read’ section in the monthly FaithWriters’ Magazine. However, the emphasis gradually shifted from reviews of books by FaithWriters’ members and other new writers, to reviews of books by popular authors. As Deborah explained, “The reviews in ‘Well Read’ were outstanding, but somewhere along the way we wandered a little off track from our original goal, which was to give new authors a chance to see their books in the media spotlight. That’s why the new FaithWriters’ Book Review site is so exciting. It’s time for the new kids on the block to have a place to shine.”

For writers, the benefits of the FaithWriters’ Book Review site are obvious. However, the benefits for readers are just as great. Anyone who has ever walked into a bookstore knows how overwhelming it can be to try and select just one book from the multitude on display. Then there is always the uncertainty of whether the final selection will live up to expectations. When it comes to unknown authors and online bookstores, the decision is even harder. So with fair and balanced reviews, FaithWriters are helping to take the guess work out of choosing the best book for each reader’s needs.

“It’s all about connecting good books with God’s people,” Deborah stated. “Ultimately, that’s really what FaithWriters is all about.”
